本科毕业于中国地质大学(武汉),随后进入中山大学海洋科学学院以硕博连读方式获得海洋地质学博士学位。主要研究方向为深水沉积过程及其古地理、古气候效应,主要通过结合地震资料解释的宏观角度和沉积物岩芯分析的微观角度研究南海陆坡深水区古气候演化背景下的沉积过程及古地貌、古环境演化规律。现阶段研究兴趣主要包括深水浊流/异重流的演化规律重建、底流沉积的演化及其古气候耦合关系分析以及沉积过程的古生物遗迹响应等。研究成果发表于Global and Planetary Change、Quaternary Science ReviewPalaeogeography Palaeoclimatology PalaeoecologyGeomorphology等国际权威地学期刊。
